When lead-based paint is involved, the purpose of the work matters. Renovation, Repair & Painting (RRP) work and lead abatement can involve some similar activities, but they serve different purposes.
RRP applies when renovation, repair, or painting work disturbs painted surfaces. The purpose of the work is renovation or repair rather than permanent elimination of a lead-based paint hazard.
Abatement is work specifically designed to permanently address lead-based paint hazards using methods intended for long-term hazard control.
AVETS Inc. complies with applicable lead requirements of the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE), District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR), and Virginia Department of Labor and Industry (DOLI), as well as applicable requirements of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
