Mother's Concerns

If you were to cut a penny into one million pieces just two of those pieces together would be approximately one microgram. Ten micrograms in approximately 7 tablespoons of a child’s or pregnant woman’s blood (10 ug/dL) is enough to adversely affect your child’s health now and his or her potential forever. The majority of residences created prior to 1978 were painted with Lead-Based Paint. There were very few residences built before 1950 that were painted with anything other than Toxic Lead Paint. Unless those painted surfaces were removed and taken away, that paint is still present and potentially a hazard.

Our Mom’s Lead-Based Paint Inspection is an onsite investigation to determine and report the existence, and location of conditions conducive to lead poisoning, including:

  • A visual inspection of the property
  • Dust wipe sampling, soil sampling, and paint testing, as appropriate

We will visually inspect the entire home for Lead Paint Hazards for $250.00

(Includes 20 XRF test results). An XRF is a toll that is effectively a lead paint detector.

We will proved you with a written report that includes the lab’s and XRF finding (if applicable), our findings, conclusion and our recommendations.

We will walk the property with you pointing out potential hazards while offering instructions on how to cure potential hazards and teaching parents and care givers how to keep the baby safe.

Each inspection is conducted “A la carte” (you tell us of your concerns). We will do as much as all of the interior and all of the exterior or as little as one room or one surface, it your choice.

Note:

  1.  The law in Maryland requires that we take two samples in any room that has wood windows and one sample in any room that does not.
  2. D.C. requires the we take two samples in every room that has a window.
